This is photo 0007 from my series entitles "Blurring the Line of Reality."
The series was done for my Advanced Studio class and turned into a book. The following is an exert from the artist statement. "This body of work incorporates Tylers other passion, which is the water. People who live around water know that its a whole other world under the surface, but many others are not so fortunate. Tyler chose to use waters unique properties to show the other worldliness beneath its surface. The surrealistic images of human body parts reflecting in the surface of the water force the viewer to really think about what they are looking at. The body parts by themselves are familiar images that people see on a daily basis, however in this new world they take on a whole new feeling. The use of light and waters effect on it give the body of work this unique appearance." Daily DeviationGiven 2007-07-17Blur0007 by ~strongerthanyou. I was truly amazed when I saw this shot two days ago. For a moment I even thought the photo was upside down. The compostion and pose are just so interesting. The reflection seems to give a whole new perspective on the human body, as if the missing part of the body is compensated by the reflection on the bottom of the water surface. But still the clever north wind is not satisfied. It speaks to me of towns yet to be visited, friends in need yet to be discovered, battles yet to be fought...

Thanks to words, we have been able to rise above the brutes; and thanks to words, we have often sunk to the level of the demons. - Aldous Huxley
